Hey Tonya!

What a captivating writer you are! I just thought I'd check your site to see what was new in Ukelele land... I didn't expect to get caught up in reading so many blogs! Thanks :)

Hi Tonya,
I enjoyed reading your experience at the Portland Ukulele Festival. You are definitely spoilt for choice in terms of attending Ukulele Festivals around America. I think James Hill is fantastic having met him when he was in NZ. I love the ukulele and like you just want to play all the time. Good luck with you next open mic performance. It's great you gave it a shot. Happy strummin'

It is hard to take a "chunk" of time off to go to a three-day festival, Momi, but when you make it to Portland you'll be glad you did!

Thanks for sharing your account and pictures. I've seen Francis Doo hula before, including some naughty ones - he's fabulous! Good for you for trying something new. I'll get to the Portland Ukefest one day when I'm not so busy (who knows when that will be).

Seattle's having its (much smaller) Ukefest this weekend, with some of the same performers/instructors as Portland's.
