You and me and…Elvis? Join us for a fun, start-of-the-summer ukulele movie night as we strum and sing while watching “Blue Hawaii.” The fun starts at 6:30 pm, Saturday, June 15.
Here’s how it works: Go to the link below and download all 14 of the songs from the movie (I think they’re in the order as they’re played in the movie, but no promises!). Print them and bring them along with you. Also bring your ukulele, a music stand (if you have one, or you can share) and some munch-along-with-the-movie treats (not required!).
We’ll meet at 6:30 pm, tune up and start the DVD playing. As we watch the movie, we’ll all be waiting for Elvis to burst into song—and then we will simultaneously burst into raucous ukulele strumming and sing along (at least that’s the plan)!
This event will be held at Paul’s office in Paradise (Solutions for Positive Choices, 5923 Clark Road, across from the library; it’s where we held the Christmas party). Please bring a spouse, friend, significant other or anyone who’s sure to enjoy this type of exceedingly high-brow entertainment.
Click to the Berkeley Ukulele Club link here if you want to watch the songs on YouTube (scroll down to the Alphabetical Listing: Blue Hawaii Soundtrack and click the movie symbol) so you’ll be even more familiar with the songs—or not! You’re sure to have a good time even if you’ve never heard the songs before!
