I’m a lucky ukulele player. Or at least, that’s how I look at it. Sure, I could be luckier if I could actually play an E chord in the first position (yuck!), but other than that, I’m pretty darn fortunate. I’ve been lucky enough to attend 27 ukulele festivals and events in the last several […]

That’s entertainment!
I don’t know about you, but I’m not really “entertained” that often. Sure, I have oodles of MP3s loaded in iTunes and I can stream just about any movie right on my iPad. But, despite the musician or the actors, those things often leave me feeling a bit “blah” and lifeless. Contrast that with a […]
Play Along with Elvis!
You and me and…Elvis? Join us for a fun, start-of-the-summer ukulele movie night as we strum and sing while watching “Blue Hawaii.” The fun starts at 6:30 pm, Saturday, June 15.
Here’s how it works: Go to the link below and download all 14 of the songs from the movie (I think they’re in the order as they’re played in the movie, but no promises!). Print them and bring them along with you. Also bring your ukulele, a music stand (if you have one, or you can share) and some munch-along-with-the-movie treats (not required!).
We’ll meet at 6:30 pm, tune up and start the DVD playing. As we watch the movie, we’ll all be waiting for Elvis to burst into song—and then we will simultaneously burst into raucous ukulele strumming and sing along (at least that’s the plan)!
